Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Orthopedic Location: Kearney, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,200 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg / Ortho Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Ability to pass an exam during orientation with a minimum score. - Commitment to maintaining departmental policies. Description: This role requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical and Orthopedic care. The unit has a total of 22 beds with an average daily census of 6 patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include total knee and hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, and spine care. RNs are not required to titrate drips. Pain medications, antibiotics, and blood products are the common infusions on the unit. There is a Charge Nurse on each shift who also takes an assignment. Patient care techs are present on the unit with a ratio of 1:13. Tele techs read and interpret telemetry for the unit. Shift scheduling allows for self-scheduling with cyclic rotation. There is a weekend requirement of every other weekend. Holidays are rotated among permanent staff. Floating requirements include Med Surg, rehab, or PCU with Med Surg acuity. One day is allocated for unit-specific orientation. Attributes that contribute to success in this role include teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to learn. Candidates must adhere to policies regarding personal grooming and departmental standards. RTO is required upfront, and additional requests may not be approved. The cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel a limited number of shifts during the assignment. Charting is conducted using the EPIC system. A BSN is required for this position.
