SummaryMonitors and directs QC Technicians progress with relation
to consistency, accuracy, techniques and frequencies. Provides
training to all persons involved in evaluating, measuring,
charting, calculating, weighing, and all other testing associated
with producing safe, wholesome, quality food products. Conduct
formal audits to insure compliance of SOP s and product
specifications. Perform all job duties and responsibilities as
outlined during a flexible work schedule to include persons,
processes, and products on all shifts. Job FunctionsEssential
Functions:Conducts continuing education of Quality Control
Technicians in their job functions. Will monitor their performance
and attention to details regularly and correct when
necessary.Conducts continuing education for QC Technicians and all
other plant personnel assigned to evaluate, measure, chart,
calculate, weigh, and all other testing associated with
manufacturing quality products. Monitors their performance and
attention to detail in relation to consistency, accuracy,
technique, and frequency.Conducts continuing GMP education and
training to all plant personnel on a daily basis or as needed, with
formal GMP training conducted at least monthly. Enforces GMP
compliance among QC Technicians and plant personnel when
necessary.Conducts continuing microbiological education and
training to QC Technicians as needed. Insures that microbiological
samples are properly collected, tested, recorded, and stored.
Provides a summary of microbiological results to QC and Production
Management upon completion of testing. Provides analysis of
results, making recommendations to insure food safety. Conducts
continuing HACCP education to all plant personnel. Conducts audits
of HACCP program to insure food safety.Conducts continuing safety
education to QC Technicians on a daily basis or as needed.Performs
attribute tests on both raw and finished product.Insures that all
attribute testing is performed by those persons assigned per SOP
and specifications, and all associated entries of this information
are consistent, accurate, and timely.Conducts formal audits on a
routine basis of all shifts to insure that the proper test and
measuring methods and procedure are being followed per SOP.
Feedback, correction with further training, must be given when
discrepancies are noted during audit. A written summary of audit
must be completed, distributed, and filed.Solves problems by
analyzing information, conducting tests, further investigation, and
receiving feedback. Communicates finding to QC Technician,
production personnel, and all other persons that may use phone,
fax, hand-written, computer, face-to-face, or other means to convey
and present facts, information and materials. Helps train Quality
Control trainees and back-ups in all facets of required duties.
Assigns laboratory work among QC Technicians with input from QC
Supervisor.Monitors progress of QC Technicians.Provides input to QC
Supervisor of QC Technician job knowledge, quality performance,
reliability (task completion), availability (attendance),
initiative, and GMP adherence for the purpose of performance
appraisal. Performs training of Net Weight Control audits and
checks per SOP to QC Technicians and packaging personnel.Performs
training of Statistical Process Control (SPC) measurement, data
collection, and charting to appropriate personnel.Involved in
developing and conducting training of fellow workers.Recommends
measures to improve QC testing methods, procedures, work schedule,
lab environment, SOP s, specifications, HACCP, production methods,
equipment performance, and quality of product in regards to
increased efficiencies, safety, quality and lower costs. Analyze
and resolves work problems, or assists in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work
goals.Performs organizing, sampling, labeling/identifying,
shipping, and any other task associated with the evaluation,
chemical, or physical analysis, nutritional analysis,
microbiological testing, and any other evaluation of products upon
request.Insures that laboratory equipment is functioning properly.
Performs general and preventative maintenance of laboratory
equipment following manufacturer instructions. Provides training to
persons as to the proper operation and care of laboratory
equipment. Notifies QC supervisor of malfunctioning equipment as
necessary.Insures that all calibration of measuring equipment is
adequately performed by instructed persons on a routine basis
following SOP.Monitors sanitation of the labs. The QC laboratory is
to be kept clean, organized, and maintained. Assigns duties to QC
Technicians as needed to accomplish and maintain
cleanliness.Conducts a formal, full inventory of QC supplies and
forms at least monthly. Completes purchase requisitions for said
supplies and forms, which is given to QC Supervisor for review and
approval. Performs duties in compliance with company policies
regarding quality standards and food safety. Strictly adheres to
all company and plant policies concerning safety, performing proper
Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures, using proper lifting techniques,
wearing effectively all personal protective equipment (PPE) as
required, proper walking/stepping and all other safety procedure
related to your duties.Adhere to all company and plant polices
related to GMP s.Adhere to all company and plant policies, work
rules and procedures. Performs all of the job duties and
responsibilities as outlined above during a flexible work schedule
to include persons, processes, and products on all shifts. Other

concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to apply common
