DescriptionPosition at JBS USA Food CompanySUMMARY:

  • The Plant Manager provides overall direction and leadership for all facility and departmental activities associated with the manufacturing, operations and warehousing product in a safe, profitable and efficient manner while compliant with company goals and procedures. In addition, the plant manager is responsible for employee recruitment, training, and development to support continuous improvement in a performance driven work place.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Manage the facility by directing and coordinating activities that support the company goals, objectives, plans and policies
    • Direct activities designed to achieve the business plan for profit, growth, and competitive advantage
    • Aligns resources to produce within budgeted targets
    • Achieve quality standards for all product produced and shipped
    • Accountable for employee safety and environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Insures all reporting is accurate and current
    • Maintains a safe work place by implementing safe work practices consistent with company policies
    • Oversee production processes designed for optimal efficiency and output
    • Supports continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, food safety, and lower manufacturing costs
    • Guide maintenance preventive, predictive, and planned programs to optimize asset utilization and asset life
    • Provides technical support and skills to optimize material utilization, formulation, materials, and resources
    • Executes management practices designed to yield a higher return on investments and greater cash flow
    • Develops and executes strategies aligned with best practices and company objectives
    • Provides training and development to improve employee performance and contribution
    • Utilizes team leadership skills to drive high performance across the organization
    • Responsible for coaching, guiding, and providing employee performance reviews
    • Responsible for plant security and accountable for all assets and materials
    • Compliant with financial controls and reporting policy requirements.
    • Follow directions of company officersWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
      • Competent with computer and office equipment
      • Travel as required
      • Limited physical requirements except to mobilize throughout the production facilityKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
        • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
        • Maintain effective relationships with staff and partners
          • Use experience, expertise, and judgment to effectively plan and implement initiatives
          • Competent planning and financial responsibilities
          • Successfully complete tactical and strategic projects
          • Utilize creative management skills to motivate employees
          • Functional SAP user
          • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plusEXPERIENCE/WORK HISTORY:
            • 5-10 years of production management experience with responsibility for financial results
            • S. in Food Science or biological sciences or minimum of 10 years of food production experience
            • Thorough knowledge of meat processing, food plant sanitation, HACCP, food safety, and quality
              • Demonstrated experience managing and leading a diverse workforce with direct and indirect reportsINTERNAL REPORTS:
                • Plant management
                • Maintenance, quality, sanitation, food safety, safety-environmental, human resources financial (indirect), and administrative staff
                • Departmental managers
                  • Indirect reports may include human resources, accounting, and logisticsEXTERNAL CONTACTS:
                    • USDA
                    • JBS Support staff
                    • Suppliers, Vendors, strategic partners
                    • Regulatory agencies
                    • Other
