Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Kearney, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,272 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/13/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 Years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Competency in Arterial Lines Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Stepdown Unit. The average daily census is 24 patients. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5 for both days and nights. Common patient diagnoses include cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, and renal failure. RNs are responsible for titrating drips, including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin. Charge nurses are present on each shift and will take an assignment. Nurse aides and patient care technicians are available, with a ratio of 1:12. Registered nurses will troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including high flow. RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips. All RNs are required to be flexible and willing to learn. Effective communication skills and teamwork are essential for success. Diverse patient populations are served, including different cultural backgrounds. Requests for time off must be provided upfront. Additional time off requests after submission will not be approved. The work environment focuses on patient experience scores, responsiveness, and effective communication regarding medications.
