Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Kearney, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,578 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 6/15/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Kearney, Nebraska, 68845! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: C-section experience required Description: Unit notes include 10 spacious, private labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum rooms. There are 2 antepartum rooms and 1 operating room suite. The unit has 2 on-call rooms for doctors. Approximately 50 births occur per month, totaling 600 annually. Certifications required are BLS, ACLS, and NRP. FHM certification is preferred. Patient ratios are 1:3 for couplets and 1:1 for laboring patients. The charting system used is Epic. There is a charge nurse and a charge RN present. The unit is supported by 1 lactation counselor, 1 unit secretary/notary, 1 maternity educator, and nurse aides/OB techs. Nurse aides/OB techs are ideally available during both day and night shifts, depending on census. Weekend requirements include working every 3rd weekend, with the potential to work every other weekend depending on need. Holiday requirements include working one major and one minor holiday. Scrub color is provided by the hospital. Telemetry is centrally monitored. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are also available 24/7. On-call staff is needed at 9 PM, with plans to expand availability to 24/7 within a year. Shifts are from 6 PM to 6 AM, with 12-hour durations. C-section experience including circulating is required. Floating to NICU is only for feeders and growers. There is 1-2 days of floor-specific orientation. Common diagnoses/types of patients include those from 32 weeks gestation and above, with no VBAC, magnesium sulfate, or insulin administration. Mothers labor and deliver in the same bed, as there is no nursery; newborns are kept with their mothers in bassinets. The practice emphasizes skin-to-skin care. There is a strong focus on teamwork within the department. In April 2018, the unit received recognition as a 'Safe Sleep Champion' by the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS).
