Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date:
3/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with
Mindlance Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Kearney, Nebraska,
68845! ID: 75532147 Shift: 12H Nights 12 hr nights Description:
Unit Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time,
or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including
CHI and/or Dignity.Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are
prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to
remove nails will lead to termination of contractDriver's license
required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is
outside 50 miles. * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Wednesdays during
orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all
necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they
will be terminated * Will not approve blocked scheduling unless its
weekends only, I can ask. Will not take a duo who needs to share
care or needs same schedule. Department: PCU*Certifications
Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSSneed to be competent in Arterial Lines-
Beds: 40 beds with average daily census of 24- Ratios: 1:4-5 both
days and nights- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults
,Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis,
adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal
failure- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- Common titratable
&/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem,
Amiodarone, insulin- s there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the
charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- Are there nurse aids/patient
care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:12- RT Equipment
(Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do
anything with these besides trouble shoot?: High flow- Are there
Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own
strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and
interpret- Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / - Weekend
Requirements: Every other- Holiday Requirements: minimum of 2
holidays that fall within contract time frame- Floating
Requirements: Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients-
Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue- How many shifts of
unit/department specific orientation?: 1 day- Additional Notes:
Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders,
bladder scanner, Focus on patient experience scores,
responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about
medications, Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to
learn as well as take feedback along the wayA nurse on this unit is
successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable,
and have good communication skills, Different cultural populations
are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and SomalianRTO needed
upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will
not be approved, including after submissions.Updated: 10/16/25 MJ
Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3
shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks Charting BSN
License to Trauma Level:2 Care Shift Notes:12 hr nights Required ,
BLS Certification, NIHSS Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
