Pay: $65 per hour Shift Information: Days Start Date: ASAP About the Position Registered Nurse - ICU – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - ICU Location: Kearney, NE Start Date: 02-02-2026 End Date: 05-04-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts (06:30 AM - 06:30 PM), typically 3 shifts per week; schedule rotates across the week and includes every-other-weekend. Holiday coverage required (minimum 2 holidays during contract). Roles & Responsibilities Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical excellence Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms using GE monitors and document findings Titrate drips and manage common infusions including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation safely Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to vents and support respiratory therapy as needed Deliver trauma, cardiac, sepsis, and stroke care following unit protocols and best practices Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute individualized care plans Complete unit orientation and pass required skills assessment to maintain quality and safety standards Qualifications Active Registered Nurse licensure required for submission Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS certification required Driver's license required at time of submission (radius rule applies) Ability to titrate drips and manage telemetry patients at a 1:2-3 adult ratio Willingness to follow facility policies including fingernail/artificial nail restrictions Successful completion of orientation exam (open book) with 90% required to continue on contract Knowledge & Skills Strong telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation skills Proficient with EPIC charting and documentation workflows Experience with drip titration protocols and cardiac critical care Comfort managing ventilator troubleshooting and high flow/CPAP/BiPAP support Experience with trauma, sepsis, stroke, and post-procedural cardiac care Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care ICU environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary staff Benefits Generous housing and travel support for contract clinicians to make life on the road easier Medical, dental, and vision coverage options so you can focus on patients, not paperwork Licensure assistance and reimbursement so renewing state paperwork is one less headache Paid time off and flexible scheduling to help you recharge between assignments Professional development support and access to continuing education resources A collaborative ICU team that values your skills and input Access to modern systems like EPIC and GE monitoring technology Dedicated recruiter and on-site support to help you hit the ground running Travel Perks: Explore Kearney, NE Kearney, Nebraska is a great hub for outdoor and cultural escapes.
