RN in Kearney, Nebraska, 68847! Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care
Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12
hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: BSN
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have:
Candidates must comply with the fingernail policy, prohibiting
artificial nails in patient care departments. Candidates will be
required to pass an exam during orientation with a minimum score of
90%. Self-scheduling is allowed for core staff, but cannot
guarantee blocked scheduling. Description: The ICU has 33 beds with
an average daily census of 16 patients. The nurse-to-patient ratios
are 1:2-3 for adults. Common patient diagnoses include trauma,
cardiac issues, substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent care, stroke,
vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory
distress. RNs are required to titrate drips, including cardiac
drips, insulin, and sedation. Nurse aides are available based on
census levels, and a healthcare support technician is present three
days a week. RNs will manage respiratory equipment, troubleshoot as
needed, and will not perform procedures beyond troubleshooting. RNs
will interpret and document telemetry strips; monitors are used
with oversight from a tele tech. Floating to other units may occur
typically to PCU or occasionally MedSurg, maintaining patient
ratios. Minimum holiday requirement includes two holidays during
the contract period, and weekend rotation is every other weekend.
Requests for time off should be submitted upfront with a maximum of
