Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Grand Island, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,290 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Stepdown Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must be within a 50-mile radius. Candidates cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN employees with any affiliated facilities. Driver's license is required for submission. Description: This position involves working on a Stepdown unit with a focus on patient care. The nurse will care for young adult to geriatric patients with various conditions, including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, and DKA. A nurse's duties include reading and interpreting telemetry strips. Common titratable and/or set rate drips include Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on this unit. There is a charge nurse on each shift who also takes an assignment. Patient care technicians are available with a ratio of 1:10, fluctuating based on unit census. The unit is equipped with BiPAP, Airvo, and other respiratory equipment. Weekend shifts and holiday shifts may be required to meet unit needs. Nurses may float to different departments as needed. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs. The unit experiences busy patient flow with simultaneous admissions and discharges. Successful candidates will exhibit teamwork, a positive attitude, and a commitment to patient experience, including bedside reporting and hourly rounding. All shifts and schedules will be determined by unit needs. A pass/fail exam is required during orientation with a minimum score of 90% to pass.
