Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Kearney, Nebraska, 68847! Job

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Competence in Arterial Lines
Description: The unit has a ratio of 1 nurse to 4-5 patients on
both days and nights. The average daily census is 24 patients.
Common patient diagnoses include cardiac medical/surgical,
dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory issues,
stroke, post-stent, post-pacemaker placement, and renal failure.
Nurses are required to titrate drips, including Heparin, Nitro,
Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin. A charge nurse is
present on each shift and does take an assignment. There is one
nurse aid or patient care tech for every 12 patients. The unit uses
high-flow oxygen, and nurses are responsible for troubleshooting
related equipment. Registered Nurses must read and interpret their
own telemetry strips. Shifts will include every other weekend and a
minimum of 2 holidays during the contract period. Floating to a
medical-surgical area or ICU to care for PCU acuity patients is
required. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs. Successful
candidates should be flexible, adaptable, and possess strong
communication skills. There is a focus on improving patient
experience scores, responsiveness, and communication regarding
medications. The unit serves diverse cultural populations,
primarily Hispanic and Somali communities. The maximum number of
requested time off days upfront is 7 for the 13-week contract.
Additional requested time off after submissions is not approved.
The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is not required for this
position. The trauma level in the care setting is 2. This position
