license Description: Unit consists of 33 beds with an average daily
census of 16. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2-3 for adults. Common
diagnoses include trauma, cardiac cases, overdose/substance abuse,
sepsis, post-stent recovery, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular
cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. RNs
are required to titrate drips, including cardiac drips, insulin,
and sedation. Nurse aides are available based on census needs and
may assist on the floor or sit in 1:1s. Healthcare support
technicians are present three days per week for assistance. RNs
must be able to troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as vents,
CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow systems. Self-scheduling is available
for core staff, but scheduling cannot be guaranteed for any
specific blocks. RNs are required to read, interpret, and document
tele strips with oversight from tele techs. Floating to other units
may occur, typically to step-down care or medical-surgical units.
Minimum holiday requirement is two holidays within the contract
timeframe. Weekend requirements involve working every other
weekend. Additional RTO will not be approved after initial
submissions. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is required
for submission, and the position is in an acute care setting.
Shifts are from 0630-1830 and 1830-0630. Requirements Required for
