Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Kearney, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,308 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 20 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Kearney, Nebraska, 68847! Job Title: Registered Nurse - Stepdown Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: PCU RN Duration: 20 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Competency in arterial lines Description: Candidates must be flexible and willing to learn. They should be open to feedback and demonstrate good communication skills. Successful candidates will be team players. The unit serves diverse patient populations. Common diagnoses include cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnoses, vascular issues, sepsis, adult respiratory conditions, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure. Nurses will be required to titrate medications such as heparin, nitroglycerin, dopamine, cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin. Charge nurses are present on each shift. Charge nurses also take assignments. Patient care techs are available on the unit, with a ratio of 1:12. The unit utilizes various respiratory equipment. Registered nurses must read and interpret telemetry strips. Shift times are 0630 to 1830 and 1830 to 0630. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Holiday requirements include a minimum of two holidays during the contract period. Floating to MedSurg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients may be required. The dress code is navy blue scrubs. The unit has overhead lifts in half of the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, and a bladder scanner. The focus is on patient experience scores, responsiveness, communication about medications, and the hospital environment. RTO needed upfront (7 days or less per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved. The charting system used is EPIC. Trauma level is 2. The care setting is acute. The division is nursing. Shifts are 12 hours overnight.
