working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Grand
Island, Nebraska, 68803! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN

Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong sense
of teamwork, friendly and positive attitude, engagement in positive
patient experience, commitment to bedside report and hourly
rounding Description: Department: Stepdown Certifications Required:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Radius Rule: 50 miles Drivers license required for
candidates outside the radius. Artificial nails are prohibited in
all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove nails
will lead to termination of contract. RN's must pass a pass/fail
exam during orientation. It is an open book exam based on skills
learned. Candidates are given all necessary resources to pass. A
score of 90% is required to pass, or the candidate will be
terminated. Number of Beds: 33 Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients: Young adults through
geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal
failure, COPD, DKA, and patients with complex medical issues
including multisystem failure. RNs are required to titrate drips.
Common titratable or set rate drips include Heparin, Amiodarone,
Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin. There is a
Charge Nurse on each shift, and the Charge Nurse takes an
assignment. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are present on this
unit with a 1:10 ratio. Available support from CNAs fluctuates
based on unit census. Respiratory Therapy Equipment includes BiPAP,
Airvo. RNs are required to read and interpret their own strips.
Unit scheduling will be managed by unit schedulers. Weekend
requirements include every other weekend. Holiday requirements as
needed to meet unit needs. Floating may occur to MedSurg, Inpatient
Rehab, or Skilled Care. Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue for RNs.
The first week includes classroom training followed by floor
shifts. The unit has a busy patient flow, with admissions and
discharges occurring within the same time frame as shift changes.
Attributes for success on this unit include teamwork and a
commitment to a positive patient experience. Requests for time off
must be provided upfront and are limited. Additional time off
requests will not be approved. Cancellation Policy: The facility
can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting System:
