ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Kearney, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 16 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM • Every other weekend requirement • Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe • Nurse to patient ratios of 1:2-3 for adults • Care for patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress • Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications • Must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips • May float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 • Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators • One shift of unit-specific orientation provided • Must pass open book exam during orientation with 90% score required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Valid driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius • Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas • Chart in EPIC system • Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 33-bed intensive care unit with an average daily census of 16 patients, providing Level 2 trauma care in an acute care setting. The ICU is equipped with modern monitoring technology and respiratory equipment, supported by nurse aides, healthcare support technicians, and telemetry technicians. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and requires comprehensive orientation and competency testing for all nursing staff.
