ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Kearney, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/19/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PCU Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts • Every other weekend requirement • Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS • Must be competent in arterial line management • Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin • Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently • Floating required to MedSurg or ICU for PCU acuity patients • Navy blue scrub color required • One day of unit-specific orientation provided • Must pass open book exam during orientation with 90% score or face contract termination • Care for adult patients with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, respiratory issues, stroke, post stent, and post pacer placement conditions • Work with overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners • Must be flexible, adaptable, and possess strong communication skills • Serve diverse cultural populations including Hispanic and Somalian patients • Chart using EPIC system • Must reside more than 50 miles from facility and provide driver's license for verification • Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination Facility: This acute care facility operates a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit with an average daily census of 24 patients. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center that focuses on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications. The PCU provides care for adults requiring step-down level monitoring and intervention, with modern equipment and technology to support complex patient care needs.
