Setting: Acute Care – Medical-Surgical Unit - Contract Duration: 13
weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 2/16/2026) - Nursing Shift: 12-hour
nights - Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week - Estimated Weekly
Salary: $1,880 - $2,020 - Unit Size: 23 beds - Patient Ratios: 1:6
max (Dayshift M-F 1:5) - Charting System: EPIC - Weekend
Requirement: Every other weekend - Floating Requirement: May float
to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for Medical-Surgical Unit
assignments unless telemetry trained Registered Nurse
Qualifications - Active RN license (Nebraska or compact state) –
required for Nebraska healthcare jobs - Minimum 1 year of recent
Medical-Surgical nursing experience - BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
certifications - Strong clinical skills and ability to manage
patient ratios up to 1:6 - Flexibility to float to PCU as needed -
Ability to work every other weekend and meet holiday requirements
(no more than 1 holiday off during contract) Med/Surg RN
Responsibilities - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in
the Medical-Surgical unit - Monitor, assess, and document patient
status using EPIC charting system - Collaborate with
interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient
outcomes - Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as
ordered - Educate and support patients and families - Float to
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for Medical-Surgical assignments as
needed - Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
