Patient population is 55 years and older and may have dementia or need a medication adjustment. Patients are on this unit to regulate medications, but they will also have other co-morbidities such as using oxygen, ect. Average patient stay is 10-14 days and discharged home or to LTC. Team consists of RNs, CNAs, Social Workers, and Recreational Therapist.Misc the psychosocial needs of the patient and family while in the inpatient geriatric mental health unit. These responsibilities include completing the Psychosocial Assessment and social history, Development of Treatment plans, Individual, Group, and Family Therapy. Discharge Planning. Experience in Mental Health and gerontology preferredCurrent NE License: Master s in Social Worker (CMSW/LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP/LIMHP) Dual Licensed preferred.
