SUMMARY:/nPerforms diagnostic x-ray procedures and computerized
tomography (CT) procedures under the supervision of a qualified
physician. Uses x-ray and CT technology and techniques to assist in
the diagnosis of patient medical conditions for patients throughout
the age continuum./n/n• *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs
and consistently demonstrates our core values./n• *Performs all
types of CT studies to include diagnostic and interventional
procedures; practices radiation safety for patients, staff, and
self./n• *Performs all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures to
include radiography, fluoroscopy, portables, and c-arms./n•
*Performs all types of Computerized Tomography procedures within
three (3) months of hire./n• *Uses sterile technique as
required./n• *Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper
positioning and selection of technical factors./n• *Competently
operates all radiology and CT equipment and support systems
including PACS./n• *Utilizes department computer systems, PACS,
etc. to review patient history and provide accurate documentation
of studies./n• *Properly cares for and images patients of all ages;
maintains patient confidentiality./n• *Coordinates exams within the
department and with other departmsent to provide expedient and
complete care; communicates with medical staff, coworkers,
patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality
patient care./n• *Handles telephone calls for scheduling,
coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy./n• Maintains
proper quality improvement plans as requested./n• *Cleans,
disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies leader of
equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as
needed./n• Keeps work area properly supplied./n• *Meets “on call”
responsibilities and responds within the allotted time limit./n•
Assists with departmental orientation and student clinical
education as directed./n• *Accesses and administers drugs and
biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in
accordance with Medical Center procedures./n• Assists in the future
planning of the CT deparment./n• Maintains professional growth and
development through seminars, workshops, and professional
affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of
expertise./n• Participates in meetings, committees and department
projects as assigned./n• Performs other related projects and duties
as assigned./n/n1. General job duties/types of procedures required:
/n• Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software
applications relevant to work functions./n• Knowledge of radiologic
and CT positioning, use of technical factors and radiation safety
procedures./n• Knowledge of CT non-invasive and invasive
procedures./n• Knowledge of ACR, federal and state regulatory
requirements./n• Skill in operating radiologic and CT
equipment,PACS, and other related systems./n• Skill in performing
venipuncture technique./n• Ability to communicate effectively both
verbally and in writing./n• Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and
medical staff./n• Ability to problem solve and engage independent
critical thinking skills./n• Ability to maintain confidentiality
relevant to sensitive information./n• Ability to prioritize work
demands and work with minimal supervision./n• Ability to react
appropriately and perform work effectively under stressful and
emergeny situations./n• Ability to care for diverse patients
througout the age continuum./n• Abiilty to exercies courtesy and
prfoessionalism in the work environment./n• Ability to practice
proper body mechanics to ensure personal and patient safety./n•
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance./n/n2.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.: /n• Epic /n/n3. Required
skills and minimum years of experience:/n• Applicant needs to be
both CT and X-ray /n• Minimum of 1 year of hospital X-Ray
experience/n• Minimum of 1 year of hospital CT experience/n•
Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology/n /n4.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required: /n•
ARRT/n• State of NE Rad License /n• BLS – AHA / ARC/ Military
Training Network/n /n5. Shift or schedule requirements:/n• 4x9-hour
shifts (10am-7:30pm) w/ rotating day off/n• 1 weekend/month
(Fri-Sat-Sun) required/n• Call required 1 day/week/n• May need to
be available for OR cases. /n/n6. Dress Code:/n• Solid colored
