Job Description:
This practical nursing role is dedicated to caring for geriatric
patients in a Medical Surgical unit focused on functional mobility
and smooth transitions to home or skilled care.
Practical nurses provide bedside care under RN or physician
supervision, assisting with data collection, care planning,
implementation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities include administering medications, applying
therapeutic plans, and supporting patients' psychological, social,
and cultural needs.
Must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program,
licensed in Virginia, with no prior experience required.
Certification in BLS-HCP and de-escalation training within four
months of hire are required.
Contributes to quality improvement, team development, and
organizational initiatives.
This full-time day shift position is based at Roanoke Memorial
Hospital.
