We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to
join our team in Grand Island. In this role, you will be
responsible for managing the daily activities of the Manufacturing
Engineering team and Tool & Die Department. This role reports to
the Plant Manager. Responsibilities:
- Creates and monitors performance indicators to measure plant
and equipment capacity, output, and identify equipment and process
flow bottlenecks.
- Shares responsibility for development and prioritization of
annual Facilities & Tooling budget along with Finance function.
Authors Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) and reviews and
approves all CARs.
- Supports resolution of technical problems through the
Manufacturing Engineering team and recommends production process or
tooling improvements.
- Manages annual tooling maintenance budget and workload, setting
priorities for Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Design, and Tool &
Die.
- Leads team effort to manage all Product Engineering changes in
product produced in the facility, focused upon timely and accurate
Manufacturing BOM development and maintenance, and implementation
of ongoing engineering changes.
- Responsible for delivery of Product Engineering Launches
including budget setting, monitoring performance to budget,
execution of pilot builds and resolution of issues emanating from
pilot builds, launch, and support of achievement of
OK-to-Ship.
- Manages new production tooling and equipment acquisition in
compliance with all company policies for quoting, sourcing, and
procurement of company assets.
- Completes departmental plans and priorities to ensure human
resource adequacy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Applies in-depth knowledge of principles and practices within
multiple technical areas of engineering fields. Applies sound
economic analysis in decision-making.
- Resolves non-routine problems both within and outside of own
area using evaluation, judgment, and interpretation of data to help
others select the right course of action.
- Interprets and explains information to audiences who are not
familiar with the subject matter, sometimes requiring persuasion
and adaptation of presentation style.
- Monitors and evaluates team and/or area work output and
advances complex work problems for appropriate resolution. Includes
oversight of both hardware and software tools to enable teams to
achieve objectives.
- Impact is generally limited to the achievement of short- to
medium-term goals (1 - 3 years); may be required to lead
operational initiatives to complete operational and strategic (3 -
5 year) plans. The salary range for this position is $97,000 -
130.000 annually. ( Actual salaries will vary and will be based on
various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for
the role.) Qualifications: A qualified candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- A combination of 8 years of engineering and management
