(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be
considered. A full-time, on-site Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
position is available to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
students at a school in Franklin, TN. This role is essential for
facilitating effective communication in educational settings,
ensuring students have full access to instruction, assemblies, and
extracurricular activities. Key responsibilities include: Providing
sign language interpretation between spoken language and sign to
support students in various settings including classrooms,
assemblies, and extracurricular activities Assisting 1:1 with
pediatric students as well as supporting elementary, middle, and
high school students who are DHH Collaborating with teachers,
staff, and families to promote inclusive educational experiences
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Participating in ongoing training and advisory support to enhance
skills and effectiveness Qualifications and desired experience:
Sign Language Interpreter certification or relevant training
Experience working 1:1 with pediatric and school-aged children,
preferably across elementary, middle, and high school levels Strong
knowledge of educational environments and terminology EIPA
(Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or
higher is strongly preferred Ability to work full-time, on-site
with a dedicated focus on student support Location: Franklin, TN
